PaarlGymnasium

The school was founded on January 12, 1858 by Rev. GWA van der Lingen. Paarl Gymnasium divided into two separate schools in 1964.
The primary school is located in the historic gym building, while the high school at the former farm, Dammetjie, received a new school building. The first girls were admitted to the school in 1964, and the first student residence, McFarlane’s house, was established shortly afterwards. In 2006, Huis Kalahari Visser opened its doors for gr. 8- resident Students. Paarl Gymnasium is 155 years old in 2013 and organised sports have been practised at the school since 1902.
